Sandhya Shankar joined Kalsi Engineering as an Engineering Specialist on September 17, 2018, and works at our Sugar Land, Texas office. Sandhya was born in Durgapur, India and raised in Chennai, where her parents still reside. She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Anna University College of Engineering, India in 2007, received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2011, and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas. Her thesis was, “Cycling effect on the nanoparticle distribution and specific heat of a carbonate eutectic with alumina nanoparticles used as thermal storage material in solar thermal power plant.”
Sandhya has been married five years. She has seven years of industrial experience working with valves, power swivels, and other equipment used in the oil and gas industry. Her background includes mechanical design and associated analysis, trouble-shooting manufacturing processes, establishing product testing procedures, and developing computer models. At Kalsi Engineering she provides support to both the consulting engineering group and the rotary seal group. Within the consulting group, her responsibilities will include designing valves and test equipment, design modification development, design review of existing products, root-cause investigation, failure analysis, and general engineering support.
