Because of the difficult conditions our rotary shaft seals are used in, Kalsi Engineering has always had strict quality policies for our sealing products and has always continually striven to improve those products and associated processes. Early in 2013, we embarked on the path of becoming an ISO registered company. That process, which was led by John Schroeder, culminated in the receipt of our seal product-related ISO 9001:2008 registration on October 2, 2013.
Our employees embraced the program, and we found that the principles and policies of the new quality management system enhanced our product quality and customer satisfaction. We are particularly proud of the improvements we have made in terms of procedural documentation and employee training.
Now we are pleased to announce that we obtained our seal-related certification with the new ISO 9001:2015 standard on July 23, 2018. The focuses between the previous standard and the 2015 standard have changed significantly, which required a time-consuming effort to restructure our QMS program. The certification transition effort was led by ISO Quality Manager Heriberta Gill and Global Business Development Manager John Schroeder. Heriberta has been involved with quality aspects of our seal product for ten years, and John has been involved for 19 years.
We are confident that our investment in adopting the 2015 standard will pay dividends in terms of product quality, productivity, business process accuracy, risk management, and meeting the needs of our customers and other interested parties.
