High Film Kalsi Seal™ Sizes
Kalsi-brand High Film™ rotary shaft seals are designed to have a thick interfacial lubricant film and reduced running torque for cooler operation in high differential pressure service. These benefits are achieved with a unique wave shape that was developed for one direction of rotation. Unlike seals for bi-directional rotation, each wave is oriented for maximum effect in a single direction of rotation.
This high pressure seal design has a high hydrodynamic pumping related leak rate during low differential pressure operation. When used in low pressure service, this leak rate can be used to flush and and lubricate the dynamic sealing interface of an outboard lip seal that is being used for contaminant exclusion.
When used as an RCD seal, an outboard leakage collection seal may be desirable to capture the hydrodynamic pumping related leakage of the High Film Seal™, and return it to the lubricant reservoir.
Contact Kalsi Engineering to discuss which of our high performance seals is the most appropriate for your rotary shaft seal assembly. Additional sizes can be furnished, subject to a one-time tooling charge to help to defray associated engineering, machining and set-up expenses. Purchase orders and requests for high pressure rotary seal quotes should be sent to the attention of Seal Sales via e-mail, or by fax at 281-240-0255.

* The complete seal part number consists of the basic part number plus the material dash number plus CW (clockwise) or CCW (counter-clockwise), designating the shaft rotation direction; e.g., 432-8-11 CW. The shaft rotation direction is determined relative to the lubricant end of the seal. Actual diameter varies as a function of material selected. New tooling may be required for certain materials.
** For gland details, see Chapter D5 of the Kalsi Seals Handbook. Gland depth can be varied to achieve specific shaft sealing objectives; see handbook.
