Available Sizes of Plastic Lined Kalsi Seals™
Plastic Lined Seals™ have the highest pressure capacity of all of our rotary shaft seals. The plastic liner places a high modulus material at the extrusion gap clearance between the housing and shaft. This high modulus allows the seal to bridge much higher pressures than an all elastomer seal. Another advantage of our plastic lined rotary seals is that they have lower breakout friction, compared to Kalsi Seals that are constructed entirely from elastomer.
We recommend this high pressure seal design as the pressure retaining seal in high-pressure equipment such as side entry cementing heads and other side inlet-type process fluid swivels, coaxial and side entry hydraulic swivels, power swivelsϯ, and high pressure rotating control devices (RCDs). For the highest pressure capacity, consider using plastic lined seals with our floating backup ring technology.
Additional sizes can be furnished, subject to a one-time tooling charge to help to defray associated engineering, machining and set-up expenses. Purchase orders and quote requests for these unique and extremely capable high pressure rotary shaft seals should be sent to the attention of Seal Sales via e-mail, or by fax at 281-240-0255.
